The Bridge Cafe: Monday—Thursday, 7:30 a.m. - 10 p.m.; Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. ; Sunday, 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. (hours subject to change)
Student Engagement Commons Desk: Monday—Thursday, 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m. - 10 p.m.; Saturday 5 p.m. - 10 p.m.; Sunday 12 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Welcome to Mary Graydon Student Center!
The Mary Graydon Student Center (MGSC) is the vibrant hub of student life at American University—a dynamic gathering space where connection, collaboration, and community come to life. Home to the Student Engagement Commons, MGSC brings together key student-facing offices dedicated to involvement, leadership, and belonging.
Whether you're grabbing a meal at the Terrace Dining Room, meeting with student clubs and Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs), or stopping by one of our many lounges and resource spaces, MGSC has something for everyone. The center also includes commuter-friendly amenities like dedicated showers, as well as flexible gathering spaces for programs, studying, and socializing.
More than just a building, MGSC is where Eagles gather, ideas are launched, and traditions are built. Come explore, connect, and make it your own!
Amplified Sound Request
All outdoor events requiring amplified sound must be approved by MGSC in connection with a space reservation. Recognized student organizations and departments must submit this form at least one week before the event date. Please note that submitting this request does not guarantee approval. You will receive an email notification regarding the status of your request, whether approved or denied.
The Student Center
The Student Center is a space for you, by you. It’s where you can grab a bite to eat, hang out with friends, get involved with clubs, and more!
The Bridge Cafe
The Bridge Cafe is our student-run coffee shop. From cold brews to open mic nights, this is a social space to be with friends or finish that final report.
