Every year prior to the beginning of the fall semester, the Center for Faculty Excellence hosts the August Faculty Workshops – a 3-day workshop series, demonstrating new and innovative approaches to classroom teaching and research.
The Annual Ann Ferren Conference, held the week before spring classes begin, features interactive, faculty-led panel sessions on current and important topics related to teaching, research, and learning.
The annual May Faculty Workshops, usually held the week after the end of the spring semester, include several half-day and one-day workshops that are designed to provide an opportunity to explore new pedagogical and scholarship opportunities with a little more time at hand than CFE’s usual programs.
Whether you are working on a book chapter, editing a fellowship or grant application, or drafting an op-ed, the Partners in Writing Program offers both on-campus spaces for writing and opportunities to team up with colleagues – ad hoc or on a regular basis – in Writing Groups.
The Green Teaching Program, which has won a national award and been adopted by several other universities around the country, allows faculty to choose from a list of sustainability measures to collect points towards earning a Green Teaching Certificate for their courses.
