Graduate Gateway Program

A pathway to graduate study at American University for international students

Graduate Gateway Program

The Graduate Gateway Program (GGP) is a summer pathway program for students who meet all the graduate admission requirements but need more English language support. The 10-week summer program provides academic English training and acclimation to U.S. graduate academic culture. Upon successful completion of GGP, students matriculate directly into their graduate degree program in the fall.

In order to participate in GGP, apply directly to your graduate school:

*If you are applying for WCL’s LLM program, you have an option of starting at ELTA in the fall/spring semester. For more information, visit LL.M. English Pathway Program page

If you are an international graduate applicant who meets AU's academic requirements but needs to improve your English proficiency, GGP may be your ideal next step. Contact your graduate program’s enrollment office to apply or learn more.
