Bio
Dr. Laura Lubin is an Adjunct Affiliate with the School of Education here at American University (2024-2027) and serves as Program Director of the Teaching and Learning Center at Prince George's Community College. With 16 years of experience in adult education and human resource development, Dr. Lubin brings extensive expertise in faculty development, instructional systems design, and educational technology to her work in higher education.

Dr. Lubin earned her Doctorate in Adult Education and Human Resource Development from Florida International University and holds PMI's Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Her professional background as an instructional designer, educational technologist, and academic administrator spans multiple institutions including Florida International University, Florida Atlantic University, Learning Systems International (METCOR/LSI), and Broward College, in addition to her current roles at American University and Prince George's Community College. She has designed and implemented faculty development initiatives across diverse institutional contexts, established comprehensive onboarding programs, and led strategic technological transitions including LMS migrations and quality assurance frameworks.

When Laura is not engaging colleagues in conversations around best practices in faculty development or online teaching and learning or managing the strategic initiatives that support comprehensive faculty experiences, she is working on her research agenda. This research agenda can be found at the convergence of a focus on Afro-futurism, wicked problems at work, the sociology of education and work, instructional systems design, intersectionality, and institutional coordination.

In addition to her American University email, she may also be contacted at lubinlx@pgcc.edu.
