Ernesto Mondelo is a seasoned expert in project management and international development, with over 25 years of experience in designing, supervising, evaluating, and training teams on more than 1,000 projects across Latin America, the Caribbean, Eastern Europe, and Africa. His expertise spans both traditional and agile project management methodologies, enabling him to lead diverse initiatives with precision and adaptability.
Ernesto holds an International Master's in Business Administration from ESADE Business School in Barcelona, Spain, and a Master's in Education from Framingham State University in Massachusetts, USA. He is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®), Scrum Master and Agility Master Coach (SPI-AC), credentials that reflect his deep commitment to excellence in the field.
As the founder and former director of the Project Management for Results (PM4R) program at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Ernesto played a pivotal role in strengthening project management capabilities throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. Under his leadership, the PM4R program became a key driver of impactful, results-oriented development projects in the region.
Currently, Ernesto serves as the CEO of the Social Project Institute, where he leads efforts to implement agile methodologies in the execution of social and environmental projects, supporting teams across multiple continents.
In addition to his professional roles, Ernesto contributes to academia as an Adjunct Professorial Lecturer at the School of International Service at American University, where he shares his expertise on project management with a focus on agility, mentoring the next generation of leaders in the field.
