- Alex Kuehl's research centers on the refugee studies field, with an emphasis on forced displacement and migration between North Africa and Europe. Alex is currently exploring the European Union's externalization and securitization of borders amid migration challenges in the Mediterranean region. In previous research projects Alex focused on refugee integration in the EU.
