Bio
Ashley Schroeder is a doctoral student in the Department of Justice, Law, and Criminology in the School of Public Affairs.
Her research interests include women in policing, police culture, alternative responses to crimes of sexual violence, and police reform efforts. Her past research has included examining varying levels of rape myth acceptance in criminal justice professionals and students as well as explaining individual officer use of force by officer gender and department diversity.
Currently she is involved in a comparative project of women in policing. She seeks to explain the laws, policies, and changes in social landscapes across Western countries that effectively increase the recruitment and retention of female officers.
