Bio
Skip came to American University in May 2025 with more than 30 years of experience in the built environment with 20-plus years in design and construction and 10-plus years in campus facilities management. Skip’s career includes 14 years in the U.S. Coast Guard, six years in the private sector as a general contractor and construction manager, and more than 18 years of experience with three federal agencies in the Washington, DC area. Skip has served leadership roles in numerous national-level trade organizations and is recognized as a subject matter expert in facilities management as well as design and construction. Major focus areas in Skip’s career include change management and sustainability.
