Alexandra Mislin’s research focuses on workplace negotiation and conflict management, with an emphasis on how trust, emotions, and identity shape cooperation and conflict. Her work explores how people navigate complex conversations—especially in moments of tension, uncertainty, or relational strain.
Her interdisciplinary research bridges management, social psychology, and experimental economics, and is grounded in the view that negotiated agreements alone do not ensure meaningful outcomes. She studies how trust is built, violated, and repaired; how obligations are tracked and interpreted; and how curiosity and subtle interaction patterns can create movement when conversations feel stuck.
Her work has been published in Administrative Science Quarterly, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Journal of Applied Psychology, Psychological Science, and Journal of Economic Psychology. She teaches courses on negotiation strategy, conflict management, and organizational behavior.
