Bio
Esperonto, MA, is a recent graduate of American University’s School of Communication and serves as Strategic Communications Lead for AU’s Antiracist Research and Policy Center (ARPC). His communications work includes a donor campaign adopted by the Washington English Center to expand its fundraising base. He was an inaugural Civic Life Fellow at American University, where he led the university’s first Civic Life Seminar, “Should your college career prepare you more for a job or a liberal education?”

Esperonto is also recognized as a pioneer House dancer and professor versed in multiple street dance traditions, including House, Hip Hop, Locking, and Waacking/Punking. He was mentored by the legendary Fluky Luke, Ana “Lollipop” Sanchez, Angel Ceja, and the late Fred “ReRun” Berry and Shabba Doo (Ozone from Breakin’).

He is the founder and director of Bmore Houseful, dedicated to House dance culture, and a member of GroovMekanex, the DMV’s first Locking crew, which has performed with Rennie Harris Pure Movement. His performance and choreography credits include The Kennedy Center Millennium Stage, Artscape at the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, Dance Place, and National Dance Day at The Kennedy Center. He also trained and choreographed for the #1 U.S. Junior Ice Skating Team.
